Teague Stefan's gravely vocals and manic guitar skills echo the styles of blues legends Bo Diddley, Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy. He recently released his first full-length CD titled Hard Eight." -- A Review of 'Game of Life' Courtesy of Radio Indy THE TEAGUE STEFAN BAND Game Of Life Label: Self Released CDBaby The sophomore effort from Central Florida’s power trio “The Teague Stefan Band” entitled “Game Of Life” combines elements of blues, rock, and funk to create a highly original, fresh sound. The album is a collection of aggressive, pounding tracks full of intoxicating heart and soul. Teague Stefan, the gifted songwriter, vocalist and guitarist for this trio, employs his talents in both musicianship and composition. The songs are well-written and performed with an enthusiasm and spirit that shines through on each track. “The Leavin’ Blues” is a blistering opener, with a strong groove and blazing guitar work. The production is raw and natural, with no post-production trickery. Stefan’s dominating guitar is accompanied by drums that are upfront in the mix, providing a powerful, hammering sound. “Tell You Truthful” is a driving shuffle tune with an expressive strut and swagger. “Power Of A Woman” is a soulful blues tune, showcasing Stefan’s vocal range as well as his mastery of the guitar. Another highlight is “High Maintenance Woman,” which features a passionate performance of emotional vocals and energetic acoustic guitar. “Dues” is a great closer, a straight-ahead rocker that is radio-ready. This is a polished group of songs that will be enjoyed by any fan of rock and blues in the vein of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, or Buddy Guy. -Rodney and the RadioIndy Reviewer Team -- Read an Interview with Teague Stefan on Associated Content Give us a 5 star rating if you like the article so we keep this interview in the top viewed content! -- Comment on "Crawl To You" Associated Content Music Rate the First song off the album for everyone at Associated Content! -- An Interview with Teague Stefan in Shorelines of Jacksonvilles Florida Times-Union By Tami McClaran Shorelines Interview -- An Interview with Teague Stefan in the Hometown News of Vero Beach Florida By Tamara Dourney Hometown News Interview -- A review of our Springing The Blues Performance on Mary 4 Music "....With a several hour drive ahead of me and having to deal with getting up at 5:00 AM on Monday, I chose to just catch a few of Sunday's early acts. Let me tell you this - I found something better than a pot of strong coffee to wake you up after a late night......it's the TEAGUE STEFAN BAND. Most of those who wandered to the stage for this 12 NOON gig, still trying to wipe the sleep from their eyes, quickly became bright eyed and bushy tailed - a perfect way to be on an Easter morning. When this kid's guitar gets smokin', its a sure three alarm fire. Watching TEAGUE made me think of names like BONAMASSA, SHEPPARD, et al. This is a heap of raw, untapped talent just waiting to erupt....." Courtesy of Orlando Metromix: The Shock Squad -- I just wanted to tell you that I finally listened to the WHOLE CD the other day, and I think it's fantastic. It is so much fun to listen to and it all sounds great. Nice flow from song to song, and it really keeps my interest. The vocals are awesome, and playing is superb. I can't wait to hear the band LIVE! Congratulations on a SUPER first CD, and I hope that success comes your way! Courtesy of Ed Krout Phat Planet Studios -- This is a review of our CD from a Belgian Online magazine Rootstime Music THE TEAGUE STEFAN BAND HARD EIGHT Label: Self Released CDBaby The newest addition is the Teague Stefan band, a classic three-man blues-rock-formation. Teague Stefan is singer and guitarist extraordinaire and the composer of what he describes himself as psychedelic blues rock. the psychedelic is mostly restricted to strategically placed echo, with the main theme classic blues rock, in which sometimes you can hear Jimi Hendrix and Stevie ray Vaughn, sometimes Robin Trower, Robben Ford or Joe Bonamassa and sometimes the entire blues rock history. The guitar work with plenty of wahwah is soulful, bassist Mike Burney takes more room than is usual and forms with drummer Art McConnell a serviceable rhythm section. With the recently released 'Hard Eight', it has become long overdue that this trio hailing from Orlando Florida, becomes better known in our low lands. In America the band is measurelessly popular and often perform in sold out halls and festivals. When you hear the new record its quickly understood why. The band plays aggressively and with passion and has its definite own sound. This last due to the unique line up of the trio and its song material that is strong from beginning to end, and in which the influences of those earlier mentioned often come through. Noteworthy in this strong recording is not only the original numbers, which Teague Stefan seems to have written body and soul, but also the good line of the recording. Most classical elements can be found in many of the numbers on the record, expanded pieces with a blues rock feeling but also the lamenting singing of Teague Stefan is greatly in evidence. On the slow 'A Broken Word' we hear Teague at his best. In the great solo we can hear what a great guitarist he actually is. Stand outs are certainly the explosive opener ‘Crawl To You', the rocking 'Victoria', the impressive 'Sweet Angel', and the powerful 'festival' closer 'Taxman'. With these it is clear that Teague Stefan is a great talent, not surprising as he served for many year’s as a sideman with North Carolina blues legend Chuck (Dr Blues) Beattie. But don't forget the other two members. 'Hard Eight' is a beautiful and complete recording for all lovers of the guitar, a record that certainly measures up to the entire genre. 'Hard Eight' can therefore be seen as a record that I have long hoped would be produced: 'redefining the blues’ as they say themselves, in any case, blues-rock for everyone who wants to go over the top for once. Success assured. -- August 11th 2005, opened the 4th annual Blues at the Rock Orange Blossom Blues Society Festival at The Hard Rock Live, Universal Studio's Orlando -- Song Writer Showcases of America SSA 2005 Guitarist of the year!
